Tattoos FAQ’s
Q: Do I need to leave a deposit?
A: Yes we take a non-refundable deposit to secure your appointment, this comes off the final price of your tattoo. We do have a card machine and can take payments over the phone. If you would like to reschedule your appointment we can arrange this. 48 hours is required to reschedule a standard appointment. 1 weeks notice is required for day sittings. Deposit will be lost if correct notice period is not given or for second and subsequent reschedules, for failing to turn up to the appointment, for cancelling outright etc.
Q: Is it safe?
A: All of our artists work to the very highest level of hygiene and safety. Our needles are all brand new and single use – disposed of in a sharps container after each tattoo. We pride our self in our clean and bright studio. We meet and exceed all of the terms and expectations of the City of Glasgow’s Tattoo license, and advise anyone shopping around for a tattoo to ensure not to be tattooed from anyone who doesn’t. We will happily discuss our safety and hygiene procedures with anyone who has any questions.
Q: Do you do cover-ups?
A: Yes we do. Please pop in to have a chat with one of our experienced artists and they will be able to advise you best.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: Pain is a subjective thing, everyone has a different tolerance to pain. We will do our best to ensure the procedure is a pain free as possible for you. The feeling can be described as irritating rather than painful.
Q: Can I go on Holiday right after getting the tattoo?
A: As part of your aftercare regime, we recommend that your tattoo stays away from swimming pool and direct sun/sun beds for a minimum of 2 weeks, or until the tattoo is healed.
Q: How long does it take for a tattoo to heal?
A: This is really down to your body’s natural ability to heal. Some people can heal as fast as 2 weeks! Others may take many more.
Q: How do I look after a tattoo?
A: Your artist will talk you through the aftercare on the day of the procedure, and we also will give you an aftercare sheet for reference in the coming weeks. We sell high quality after care solution in the studio.
Q: Can you design my tattoo?
A: Yes we can. Depending on which tattoo you would like, we can either have it drawn up for your appointment, or you can have a consultation with one of the artists to have a custom piece drawn. We take a £50 design fee for the latter which comes off the final price of the tattoo. We ask that you bring us as much reference material as possible, so we can design for you your dream tattoo.
Q: How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?
A: you must be 18 years or older. Photographic ID will be required for those who may look under 25.
Q: Do you do tattoos in all languages?
A: We can tattoo any language but the translation, spelling and grammar remain the responsibility of the customer.
Q: Do you tattoo hands or faces?
A: There are special circumstances in which we will tattoo your hands or face, but it is entirely at the artist’s discretion. Please contact us for more information.
Q: Do you offer tattoo removal?
A: Yes we offer laser tattoo removal, please contact us for more information.
Q: How much will the tattoo cost?
A: A high quality tattoo will last a lifetime, it is one of the few purchases we make in life that will. Do not shop around for your tattoo simply based on price. There is an old phrase in the industry - “good tattoos are not cheap and cheap tattoos are not good". We do however ensure to be as competitive as possible on the price for you, and as all of our artists work efficiently you will know that they are not wasting your time and money. We try to price as many pieces as a set price as possible, so you know exactly how much you have to pay. However for large custom work we charge by the hour. For a quote, please send us or pop in with your design.
Q: Can I have drink alcohol before the tattoo?
A: No, it will only make the process harder for you. Alcohol thins the blood, meaning you will bleed more during the tattoo and it will take a lot longer to put the ink in, and for the tattoo to heal.
